I'll tell you what's happened and it might be of help for you all.
So last year was half self-employed/ half Limited for me and I have done my self-assessment last month.
Because I have a full time job, I went over the 50K so I had to pay 40% of 20K (I went up to 70K in personal income) which really, really hurt... (that was 9K, I paid a total of 15K).
Now...do you know that if you put money into a SIPP being self-employed the Government top it up with a 20% ??
I didn't have a clue but yes, free money.
Also, if you are in the higher tax bracket (which I was last year), not only they top it up with 20% BUT ALSO you can claim the tax you paid back!
